After years watching people pushed too hard, burned out, or give up entirely. We built something different. A movement studio that starts with the human being, not the programme.

Where it began

Movement should
feel good.

Most fitness spaces just do not work for real people. They are built around cookie-cutter programmes, unrealistic body goals, and a no pain, no gain mentality. They do not ask what your body needs. They expect you to fit their mould.

After years in the industry, Alex and Bronwen saw people pushed too hard, get injured, burned out, or give up entirely. People were left thinking something was wrong with them when really, something was wrong with the system.

That is why we started Uncommon Movement Studio. A space that adapts to each person, not the other way around.

We built a place where strength does not mean punishment. It means being able to move freely, play with your kids, recover from injury, carry your shopping, or feel good in your body again.

The journey

2013

Out of the Common founded

One coach. One radical idea. Movement coaching that is entirely personalised and genuinely joyful.

2016

Rehab coaching introduced

We developed our approach for bridging the gap that physiotherapy leaves behind.

2019

Youth programme launched

Expanding to children, particularly those with ADHD, dyspraxia, and sensory differences.

2021

Remote coaching goes global

Same quality, live via video. Clients across Asia, Europe, and beyond.

The whole person, every time

How you slept, how stressed you are, what your body is carrying today. A good coach reads the person in front of them and adapts. We always do.

Movement is not punishment

Sessions can be demanding, but they should leave you feeling better than when you arrived. Always.

Coordination, balance, agility, creativity. Play is not a break from training. It is some of the most important training there is.
